#8. All genes are located on the same chromosome

NCERT Class 12 Page No.83

A linkage group can be defined as all the genes on a single chromosome that move as a unit during the cell division. These genes do not tend to separate, until the crossing-over and if the distance between them is very less, they will not undergo the crossing-over

#16. In a dihybrid cross, if you get 9 : 3 : 3 : 1 ratio, it denotes that

#17. Which of the following will not result in variations among siblings?

Linkage will not result in variations among siblings because linked genes occur on the same chromosome and are transmitted together. In linkage there is a tendency to maintain the parental gene combinations except for occasional crossovers.

#18. Mendel’s Law of independent assortment holds good for genes situated on the

#19. Occasionally, a single gene may express more than one effect. This phenomenon is called
