#1. A decrease in blood pressure/volume will not cause the release of

#2. The part of nephron involved in active reabsorption of sodium is

#3. Human urine is usually acidic because

#4. Removal of proximal convoluted tubule from the nephron will result in

PCT is lined by simple brush border cuboidal epithelium which increases the surface area for reabsorption.

#5. Which of the following does not favour the formation of large quantities of dilute urine?

Renin increases the blood volume and therefore does not favour the formation of large quantities of dilute urine.

#6. Which of the following causes an increase in sodium reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule?

Hormone aldosterone released by adrenal gland induces the distal parts of tubule to reabsorb more Na

#7. The maximum amount of electrolytes and water (70-80 percent) from the glomerular filtrate is reabsorbed in which part of the nephron?

#8. A fall in glomerular filtration rate (GFR) activates

#9. Which one of the following is not a part of a renal pyramid?

Convoluted tubules : Proximal convoluted tubules (PCT) and distal convoluted tubules (DCT) are present in cortex while rest are in medulla which comprises renal pyramids.

#10. Uricotelic mode of passing out nitrogenous wastes is found in

Uricotelic : Reptiles, insects, birds.

Ammonotelic : Aquatic insects, amphibians (larva).

#11. The net pressure gradient that causes the fluid to filter out of the glomeruli into the capsule is

#12. A fresh water fish maintains osmoregulation by

Osmoregulation in fresh water fish occurs by

(i) Continuously passing out dilute urine.

(ii) Uptake of salt due to loss of ions from the body

#13. The parts of nephron situated in medullary region of kidney are

Cortex : PCT, DCT, malpighian body.

Medulla : Loop of Henle.

#14. Which one does not influence the activity of kidney?

#15. Which of the following statement is incorrect?

ANF (antinatriuretic factor) secreted by heart which facilitates Na /salt excretion in opposition to the increase in blood pressure/GFR.

#16. The most toxic nitrogenous waste excreted by many bony fishes, aquatic amphibians and aquatic insects is

The most toxic waste excreted by many bony fishes, aquatic amphibians and aquatic insects is ammonia; urea is comparatively less toxic and uric acid is least toxic.

#17. Among following, which is the largest gland of our body?

#18. Malpighian body or renal corpuscle is composed of glomerulus along with

Malpighian body or Renal corpuscle = Glomerulus Bowman’s capsule

#19. Least toxic nitrogenous waste among the following is

Ammonia > Urea > Uric acid Above we mentioned this Explanation

#20. The part through which arteries and veins enter or leave the kidney is called

#21. Podocytes occur in

#22. Nitrogenous wastes are produced in our body by metabolism of

Nitrogenous wastes are the products of protein and nucleic acid metabolism.

#23. Human beings are

Ureotelic – Human beings

Uricotelic – Insects, birds

Ammonotelic – Tadpole

We Already discuss this topic in Above 2 Questions

#24. All are performed in a nephron, except

#25. The main function of loop of Henle is

#26. Structure of Vasa recta is

Vasa recta is U-shaped in which blood flows in opposite direction to the flow of the filtrate in the loop of Henle.

#27. Glucose and amino acids in the filtrate are reabsorbed by tubular epithelial cells through

Glucose and amino acids in the filtrate are reabsorbed in the proximal convoluted tubule via active transport.

#28. Which of the following is also known as antidiuretic hormone?

Vasopressin is also known as ADH (antidiuretic hormone)

#29. Hormone responsible for the absorption of water in DCT is

ADH(antidiuretic hormone) is secreted by neurosecretory cells of hypothalamus which is released from posterior pituitary.

#30. Sweat contains

#31. The condition of accumulation of urea in blood is termed as

Uremia : Condition of accumulation of urea in the blood.

Diuresis : Increased excretion of urine.

Glycosuria : Excretion of glucose in the urine.

  1. 14th question answer is wrong cause Aldosterone does affect the function of kidney by causing the Latter parts of tubule to reabsorp Na+ and H20.Answer should be Gonadotropin.

    Reply
  2. Q 14 answer should be 4 because rennin is enzyme which is present in stomach which helps in digestion of milk in infants so what does it effect’s the kidney. And aldosterone causes reabsorption of Na+ and water from distal parts and distal parts can be consider as part of nephron, and it can be considered as it acts on kidney. So please change the answer!!
